Making Sure Our Voice is Heard
Right to Live in Community
We believe that people should exercise their right to voice and choice in choosing where they live and with whom they live.
Inclusive Education
We believe that it is the right of every child in Canada to receive an education in the regular school system.
Work and Employment
People with intellectual disabilities should have choice and opportunity to earn a living through paid employment in the labour market.
Income and Supports
We believe that people must have enough income to secure a life with dignity and inclusion.
Legal Capacity
We believe that all people, regardless of disability, have legal capacity and the right to make their own decisions and choices.

Who are People First of Manitoba?
People First of Manitoba is the voice of Manitobans' labeled with an intellectual disability. People First of Manitoba is led by a group of self-advocates who believe all people labeled with an intellectual disability, need to be recognized as equal citizens with the same rights, values, choices and freedoms as everyone else.
People First of Manitoba groups has regular meetings where members have the opportunity to socialize, share experiences, come together to advocate for change and learn new information and skills.
