The People First movement uses Advisors (people without intellectual disabilities) to help them do the work of the organization. Advisors are appointed by the Executive and help members in all the elected positions. Advisors are volunteers. Advisors are not support workers. Advisors are always present at People First meetings to help members if they need it.

People First of Manitoba is located on Treaty 1 territory, the original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Anisininew, Dakota, and Dene peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation. We respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, we acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and we dedicate ourselves to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration.
